I’m drowning
on fire
and struggling to breathe,
Resisting desire
to bleed
or believe,
Fighting to stay yet
I yearn to replace…
The end of my life to
look fear in the face.
The water is fraught
yet never quite fills me…
The slaughter is hot
yet it settles and chills me…
The hunger inside me
is never quite sated…
I’m drowning
on fire
and no one can save me.
