Wood and Thunder

The forest is green
though the boughs have been broken,

The rain speaks in volumes
though no words are spoken,

The crown that you wear
is dripping with rain,

It seeks to disguise
your passion and pain,

A window to darkness
exists in their eyes…

A tangling of limbs
and a mingling of sighs…

There’s jealousy there
and it struggles to eat me…

Your gaze penetrates me
and fills and completes me…

The rain beats us down
as the green of leaves darken…

You give me your crown
as my senses are sharpened…

I’m lost
overwhelmed
and I can’t find my way…

You thicken
and quicken
then it’s far too late…

And the sun disappears
and the lightning is blinding…

A forest of spears:
you were well worth the finding.

SNOWMEN

We’re warm in our blizzard
in this darkest abyss…

We walk hand in hand
and in streetlight we kiss…

We walk amongst strangers
down deep escalators…

We crest and then press
against walled elevators…

We fuck in our minds
at the flick of an eye…

We remember our bliss
and the world says goodbye…

We fall to the floor
or to street
or to beds…

We lose one another
(in each other)
with threads…

We exist in this storm
in a state of sensation…

We insist on each other
(or occasional gay-sion…)

We are fire and ice;
We are steam and we’re snow…

But you melt my insides
and then go with the flow.
