“It’s Late and I’m Awake”

It took me awhile to fall asleep last night, between 11pm & 12am I think. I slept well but woke around 5am. I knew immediately that I wouldn’t be able to get back to sleep. I got up, had a smoothie and worked on my webpage. I got all the LGBTQ+ reviews linked to the index, which is all the movies I watched in 2024 with a few extras. I have hundreds more to bring to the site but at least all the ones here will be easier to find now. I also had some fun ideas for the index which I’ll attempt to implement later. I updated the Arrow Season 1 page a bit, adding comic covers for 3 of the issues.

And while the news I got from the doctor yesterday was not great, I have remained calm and based on his theories, I’ve implemented changes to my treatment that so far are going well. It’s all a bit awkward and strange for me, but I’ve been flexible about a lot of central issues in my life of late, and I’ve been all the better for it. So I guess I’m trying to attempt that sort of adaptability in other areas of my life, and seeing some positive signs of improvement. At the very least, trying to be more resilient in my responses has not seemed to have any negative side effects, and that’s something!

I took a brief shower. The downstairs neighbors swear there is a leak so I’m trying to be supportive of their needs, but I do need to shower at least once or twice a day, depending on my activity. I only used a fraction of the water that I usually use though. For me, showering is usually a very relaxing experience, which I cherish. I let the water wash over me and I just think about a million different things. It’s like therapy. But I’m not doing that now. They were going to come try to fix this on Wednesday, but now they can’t. I told them I was available today, a bit on Thursday and Friday but I haven’t heard back from them, so I’m not sure what’s going on.

I feel very relaxed. I might be able to get back to sleep now.
