Four of the videos can be found as extras on the home release of “Spider-Man: Homecoming” (2017). They feature Cap in his “The Avengers” costume, meaning he recorded them around this time. The film’s story is told in flashback from the following year, as explained in the film’s credit scene. The film is mainly set in December 2012.
During the film, it is explicitly shown that the prologue’s events occur on December 31, 1999. During the main events of the film, it is the lead-up to Christmas – December – and it is said that Killian “invited Tony to join AIM 13 years ago”, making it December 2012. It is also stated that Maya Hansen has returned to Stark’s life “13 years later”, and Stark notes that he and Hansen would, if they had a child, have a “12-year-old” – the child would have been born c. September 2000, making it December 2012. Marvel Studios 101: All Your Questions Answered confirmed the events to be “2012”, with Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years: The Official Movie Special further supporting this.
However, as of the release of Marvel Studios’ The Marvel Cinematic Universe: An Official Timeline, the events have been explicitly dated to take place December 22-25, 2013 instead. However, given the number of issues this causes I’ve chosen to ignore that placement, therefore the film, by my reckoning, is told in flashback from early 2013 and the main events are set in late 2012. YMMV.

Set on Earth-10005, this continuation of the X-Men films is set in 2013, 18 years after “X-Men: The Last Stand”. The film features a credit scene set 2 years later, in 2015. The TV series “The Gifted”, which begins in 2017, is viewed by some as the next installment in this timeline. The next film in the cycle (“Days of Future Past”) begins in 2023.
Set in the same parallel universe as the “Agent Carter” TV series (originally intended to be the same universe as the M.C.U. films), this first season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. takes place over 2013 & 2014, with ties to “Iron Man 3”, “Thor: The Dark World” & “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”. Because the series was believed at the time to be set in the same universe as the films (by the people who made the show), the series features many actors, items and locations from the M.C.U. films and also features crossover storylines with those films – which impact the series, but which are never really acknowledged in the films due to internal disagreements between the TV & film divisions of the company. This was later rectified with the movie division taking control of the TV department, which allowed for actual crossovers between projects like “Loki”, “WandaVision”, “The Falcon & the Winter Soldier”, etc.

Doctor Stephen Strange was previously mentioned in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” as a target of Hydra.
The film unfolds over a longer period of time than most Marvel films. Stephen Strange’s accident near the beginning of the film has been confirmed as happening on February 2, 2016 (per Strange’s watch, seen in the film, and also per the Official Marvel Timeline).
Also, there’s an early reference in the film which is often mistakenly assumed to be a reaction to events in “Captain America: Civil War” – but placing the movie here prevents that.
From a multiversal standpoint, I also like that placing this story here would introduce the M.C.U. version of Strange before his multiversal counterpart is featured in “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man”.

It is likely still a reference to Bucky Barnes as his data is given to Shuri in advance of his journey to Wakanda, as seen in the Infinity War Prelude comics.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man – Season 1 (Jan 29 – Feb 19, 2025)
Set on Earth-86445 this animated series tells a multiversal take on the M.C.U.’s Spider-Man (and various other properties) after seemingly being interrupted by a timeline affecting Doctor Strange. In the new version of events, Peter must stop attending Midtown High School due to the destruction of this intervention and transfers to Rockford T. Bales High School where he crosses paths with different characters – but the series continues to mirror various M.C.U. events.
The series has been renewed for a second season (which is slated to be released in late 2026) and a season 3 (which isn’t likely before late 2027).

So in a way, we’ve come full circle to the point where the Loki series spins out of Avengers: Endgame and unleashes the Multiverse. Only we’re not done with the past yet, because when the X-Men films return (around the same time as the 2023 section of “Avengers: Endgame”, they travel back in time too and we see their timeline change as we circle around again.

In Miles’s universe (Earth-1610) the year is 2018. The sequel takes place a little over a year later but plays off the events of “Venom” (set in 2023), “Morbius” (set in 2024) & directly references the events of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (set in 2024); I interpret this to mean that in various universes the years are different (which Marvel producers have confirmed with the release of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”) – but we’re going by the year in the 616 universe – which means this is actually in 2023.
We see variants of many characters we’ve encountered up to this point in this film.
Venom (October 5, 2018)

Set in 2023 on Earth-688, 1.5 years before the sequels “Venom: Let There Be Carnage”, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” & “Venom: The Last Dance”.
We’ve previously encountered variants of Venom related characters:
Topher Grace played Eddie Brock and Venom in “Spider-Man 3”.
We also saw Venom related symbiote type characters in “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man”, with Venom slated to appear in Season 2.
