The Kurtzman Era, named after Alexander Hilary Kurtzman, the main driving force behind this era of Trek stories, began in 2009 with the 11th Star Trek film, titles simply, “Star Trek”, and it will end in 2027 with the release of 2 seasons of television. But I wouldn’t recommend watching these entries in release date order. I also wouldn’t strictly recommend watching them in chronological order, which is very unlike me. For me, I feel like the most satisfying viewing experience is a bit of both. I think of this era as mainly being told in 8 parts:
